Modular One-Piece Plastic Three-Leg Round Outdoor Dining Table Mold — Product Introduction (Motek Furniture Mold Series)

Product Positioning

Motek introduces dedicated injection molds for modular plastic tables with three-leg supports and round tabletops integrally injection molded as one piece for outdoor dining settings. Compared with four-leg designs, the three-leg structure uses less material and occupies less space for storage, but the load distribution of triangular support and the demolding mechanism design are more challenging. The core challenges in mold development lie in demolding mechanism design for three-leg one-piece forming, warpage control of the large circular flat surface, and strength assurance at the three-leg load-bearing nodes. Motek addresses these three aspects through dedicated design of the demolding system, cooling channels, and reinforcement rib layout, helping customers achieve stable mass production of three-leg one-piece round tables.

Product Features

Demolding Mechanism Design for Three-Leg One-Piece Forming.

The legs and round tabletop of a three-leg table are formed within the same mold cavity, with the three legs distributed at 120°. During demolding, the cavity inserts must first separate from the product before the finished part is ejected. Motek adopts a cavity insert with opening hydraulic cylinder structural solution: during mold opening, the frame drives the inserts to first separate from the moving platen, then hydraulic cylinders drive the inserts to further separate, allowing the three-leg round table to release smoothly from the cavity. This mechanism references the mature demolding approach of industry one-piece tables, reducing manual intervention and ensuring a stable, controllable demolding process.

Warpage Control for Large Circular Flat Surfaces.

The round tabletop is an axisymmetric large flat surface, and radial versus circumferential deformation differences during shrinkage can easily cause edge warping or "dish-shaped" deformation. Motek evaluates shrinkage distribution through mold flow analysis, applies pre-deformation compensation to the cavity, and adopts annular balanced cooling channels to equalize cooling rates across tabletop regions, controlling roundness and flatness from the source. Industry experience shows that regular reinforcement rib design on the tabletop underside can effectively reduce deformation, but rib thickness should not exceed tabletop wall thickness, otherwise sink marks will appear on the appearance surface.

Structural Reinforcement at Three-Leg Load-Bearing Nodes.

The load of three-leg support is concentrated at the connection areas between the tabletop and the three legs, with more concentrated force distribution than four-leg designs. The mold optimizes wall thickness transitions and reinforcement rib layout at leg roots and tabletop transition zones to avoid sink marks or stress concentration caused by abrupt wall thickness changes. Mold flow analysis is used to evaluate filling end positions in three-leg areas, with proper venting arranged to prevent weak points caused by trapped gas. For leg areas, referencing industry practice, internal reinforcement rib networks can be arranged according to load-bearing requirements to enhance rigidity without increasing appearance wall thickness.

Balanced Ejection to Protect One-Piece Part Appearance.

Three-leg round tables have large surfaces with three-leg structures, and uneven ejection force can cause stress whitening on the tabletop or leg deformation. Motek adopts a combined ejector pin and ejector plate balanced ejection layout, with ejection points covering the tabletop center area and the peripheries of the three legs, distributed symmetrically at 120°, ensuring uniform force distribution during demolding with no visible ejector marks on the appearance surface.

Weathering Considerations Under Outdoor Use Conditions.

Outdoor dining tables are exposed long-term to UV and temperature fluctuations. During the mold design phase, the UV resistance grade of the plastic base material must be confirmed with the customer, and the shrinkage rate difference between modified materials and standard PP must be considered in cavity dimension calculations. Wall thickness can be appropriately increased at impact-prone areas such as the bottoms of the three legs and tabletop edges to enhance overall durability.

Applications

Motek modular one-piece plastic three-leg round outdoor dining table molds are suitable for:

  • Outdoor round dining tables with three legs and round tabletop integrally injection molded
  • Three-leg outdoor round tables with center umbrella holes
  • One-piece round tabletop with detachable legs (three-leg connection points integrally formed)
  • Three-leg one-piece round tables for commercial food stalls/courtyards
  • Small-specification three-leg leisure round tables

Service Process

After the customer provides 3D product drawings or samples, Motek completes mold flow analysis (including three-leg one-piece filling evaluation and demolding mechanism plans) and mold structure confirmation; cavity steel and moving components such as hydraulic cylinders and sliders are procured according to agreed specifications; progress and key milestones are regularly reported during processing. During trial molding, emphasis is placed on verifying demolding mechanism smooth operation and appearance quality of three-leg load-bearing areas, with samples and inspection reports provided for confirmation. Before shipment, molds undergo anti-rust treatment and action testing, with water circuit diagrams, consumable parts lists, and demolding mechanism maintenance instructions provided. Technical support is available during the warranty period, with lifetime maintenance consultation.

Motek — From four-leg square tables to three-leg round tables, providing reliable injection mold solutions for stable mass production of one-piece outdoor dining tables.
