Project Challenge

The existing crates were prone to cracking in cold-chain transport (-25°C), and the mold frequently produced flash, resulting in extremely high manual trimming costs.

• Adopted imported pre-hardened steel paired with a specialized vacuum heat treatment process, greatly improving low-temperature impact toughness.
• Used precision sliders and angled lifter core-pulling systems to ensure accurate and seamless snap-fit of the folding structure.

Project Challenge

Products molded from the old tooling had uneven shrinkage rates, making stacks prone to tilting and collapsing. The appearance also required a high-gloss finish with no visible weld lines.

MOTEK Solution

• Used Moldflow simulation analysis to predict weld line locations in advance and optimize gate positions.
• Adopted a multi-cavity balanced runner design to ensure high dimensional stability and a high-gloss surface (SPI A2 polishing grade).
