Application Coverage
Four bin families, one tooling method
Mold strategy follows volume, structure and finish: thin-wall household bins need gloss and multi-cavity; municipal bins need deep-core cooling and warp control; industrial containers need strength and axle inserts.
Municipal wheelie-bin molds
Municipal wheeled bin molds are used to produce standard 60L, 120L, 240L, and 360L plastic wheeled bins for urban sanitation, waste collection, and recycling. The body typically uses a single-cavity design for balanced filling, uniform cooling, and stable dimensions, with wheel axle holes, handles, ribs, and EN 840 interfaces molded in one shot. The lid can be molded independently for flexible configuration and easy replacement. 718H or 1.2738 steel is recommended, with beryllium copper inserts in thick-walled or hard-to-cool areas to shorten cooling. Overall advantages include stable molding, flexible lid tooling, one-shot key interfaces, and optimized cooling — ideal for high-volume standardized production.
Industrial container molds
Industrial large container molds are used to produce 660L, 770L, and 1100L large four-wheel plastic containers, widely applied in industrial warehousing, logistics turnover, waste collection, agricultural transport, and municipal sanitation. Due to their large size and deep-cavity structure, these molds typically use a deep-core design with hydraulic-assisted ejection to ensure smooth demolding and prevent deformation. Modular inner inserts are adopted for easy maintenance, replacement, and local adjustment, reducing maintenance costs. These molds require high-tonnage injection machines, typically matching 1800–2800T presses to provide sufficient clamp force and shot capacity for large, thick-walled parts. Overall advantages include stable deep-cavity molding, reliable ejection, and easy maintenance — ideal for high-volume industrial container production.
Household indoor bin molds
Household indoor bin molds are used to produce 8–50L round or square waste bins, pedal bin liners, and sorting inner bins, widely used in kitchens, living rooms, bathrooms, offices, and commercial indoor spaces. These products demand high appearance and hand-feel quality, so mold design must focus on uniform wall thickness of 1.5–3.0 mm to prevent sink marks, deformation, and assembly issues. Surfaces can be finished with high gloss or leather grain to suit different home styles and grades. For pedal bins and soft-close lids, the mold also needs a cushioning over-molding structure to ensure smooth opening and closing, noise reduction, and good sealing. Overall advantages include uniform wall thickness, refined appearance, and complete functional design — ideal for high-volume production of household and indoor bins.
Waste bin lid, inner bucket, and accessory
Waste bin lid, inner bucket, and accessory molds are used to produce flip lids, pedal mechanisms, inner buckets, hinges, wheels, axle sleeves, and TPE over-molded noise-reduction strips. Lid molds focus on fit clearance and smooth opening, pedal mechanisms ensure assembly accuracy and reliable return, hinge holes require core-pulling, TPE strips provide cushioning and noise reduction, and wheel and axle sleeve molds ensure fit precision and load capacity. These accessory molds can be delivered together with the body mold to ensure consistent fit clearance and avoid assembly issues from separate tooling batches — ideal for complete household and commercial waste bin mold solutions.

Step 6
Engineering solutions
Six levers on large thin-wall deep parts
A bin mold is not just a cavity. The work is balanced fill, even cooling, damage-free ejection, and dimensional stability after hundreds of thousands of cycles.
√ Moldflow first
Fill, pack, warp and cooling studies before steel is cut. Large bins typically use 3–5 valve gates around the rim, sequenced so weld lines miss load-bearing ribs and show surfaces.

√ Hot runner & valve gates
Recommended from 240L up: no cold sprue, cycle time set by the part only. YUDO / Husky / Mold-Masters with independent pin timing.

√ Balanced inner–outer cooling
Spiral core circuits plus zoned cavity loops; BeCu in hot spots. Cool both sides together to limit rim flare and base sink.
√ Steel graded to life
P20 ≥300k; 718H / 2738 ≥500k; H13 / S136 ≥800k–1M shots. High-gloss lids prefer S136 or NAK80.

√ Deep-cavity ejection
Stripper plates / hydraulic cylinders plus air assist to cut witness marks. Textured bins use split slides that leave the pattern intact.

√ Serviceable insert design
Handles, wheel seats and gate areas are separate inserts so wear is repaired locally — lower spare-part cost for overseas plants.

Configurable Mould Parameters
Typical ranges only. Final build follows part size, resin grade and target output. Part size determines mold structure and machine tonnage; resin grade determines steel and runner system; target output determines tool life and steel grade. Cooling, surface finish, lead time and budget should also be confirmed together.
