Wedding Plastic Chair Mold — Product Introduction (Motek Furniture Mold Series)

Product Positioning

Motek introduces dedicated injection molds for plastic chairs used in wedding, banquet, and hotel settings. Wedding chairs typically feature transparent or high-gloss appearance, stackable storage, and switchable backrest styles to meet the rapid adjustment needs of different wedding themes and banquet arrangements. The core challenges in mold development lie in optical-grade machining of transparent/high-gloss surfaces, quick-change design of interchangeable backrest inserts, and smooth stacking with anti-sticking properties. Motek configures dedicated solutions around cavity surface treatment, insert systems, and cooling efficiency, helping customers achieve stable mass production and flexible style changes of wedding chairs.

Product Features

Optical-Grade Machining of Transparent/High-Gloss Cavities.

Wedding chairs often use transparent PC or high-gloss PP to achieve a crystalline or lustrous visual effect. Transparent PC places extremely high demands on cavity surface quality. Motek selects polishable H13 or DIN 1.2738 steels, with cavity surfaces receiving high-grade polishing (A2/A3 or above) to eliminate machining marks and polishing traces, preventing light scattering that causes haziness. Gate positions are optimized through mold flow analysis to prevent cold slugs from entering the cavity and forming black spots or flow marks; venting systems are properly arranged at weld line locations to prevent trapped gas from affecting transparency.

Quick-Change Design of Interchangeable Backrest Inserts.

The backrest style of wedding chairs is the core differentiator between models and themes. Motek adopts an interchangeable backrest insert solution, where the same mold base can achieve rapid switching between different styles by changing backrest inserts, reducing mold investment for customers producing multiple styles. Insert positioning and locking structures are precision-controlled to ensure accurate cavity alignment and no flash after insert changes. For models requiring gas assistance, insert design must coordinate with gas channel layout.

Smooth Stacking and Anti-Sticking.

Wedding and banquet settings require large quantities of chairs to be stacked for storage and transport. Motek design-verifies stacking position angles and spacing to ensure stable stacking of multiple chairs with smooth retrieval, preventing sticking caused by vacuum suction from atmospheric pressure. For transparent chairs, stacking contact surfaces require appropriate wall thickness increase or buffer structures to prevent surface indentation from stacking pressure.

Demolding Mechanism Optimized for Chair Undercuts.

Wedding chairs often feature backrest curves, seat edge flanges, and other undercut features. For the curved structure at the seat-to-backrest connection, Motek references industry dual-lifter mechanism solutions, using two lifter rods jointly driving one lifter block to enhance structural strength and ejection stability, preventing single-rod lifters from wearing or bending during ejection of large products. Side core-pulling sliders coordinate with angled core-pulling cylinders to ensure smooth demolding of complex cavities.

Balancing Lightweighting and Structural Strength.

Wedding chairs must balance portability with load-bearing safety. Motek determines reasonable wall thickness distribution through mold flow analysis, arranging reinforcement ribs on seat undersides and backrest load-bearing areas, with rib thickness controlled at 50%–60% of main wall thickness to enhance rigidity while avoiding sink marks on appearance surfaces. For thick-wall nodes (such as leg-to-seat connections), gas-assisted systems can be configured to replace solid walls with hollow structures, achieving 15%–25% weight reduction.

Applications

Motek wedding plastic chair molds are suitable for:

  • Transparent PC wedding chairs/banquet chairs
  • High-gloss PP wedding chairs
  • Stackable wedding chairs (for hotels and banquet halls)
  • Wedding chair series with switchable backrest styles
  • Gas-assisted lightweight wedding chairs (hollow tubular structures)

Service Process

After the customer provides 3D product drawings, transparency/appearance requirements, and style-change needs, Motek completes mold flow analysis (including transparent part filling and venting evaluation, stacking structure verification) and mold structure confirmation; cavity steel is selected per optical-grade requirements, with surface samples provided for customer confirmation before polishing; backrest insert plans are machined after customer sign-off. During trial molding, emphasis is placed on verifying transparency, stacking smoothness, and insert change precision, with samples provided for confirmation. Before shipment, molds undergo anti-rust treatment and action testing, with water circuit diagrams, hot runner wiring diagrams, insert lists, and maintenance instructions provided. Technical support is available during the warranty period, with lifetime maintenance consultation.

Motek — From standard chairs to wedding transparent/style-change chairs, providing reliable mold solutions for injection molding and flexible style changes of banquet furniture.
