Rattan-Weave Tabletop Rectangular & Oval Table Mold — Product Introduction (Motek Furniture Mold Series)

Product Positioning

Motek offers dedicated injection molds for rectangular and oval tables featuring rattan-weave tabletop surfaces. This product category combines the natural woven aesthetic of rattan with the durability and easy maintenance of plastic, suitable for dining rooms, living rooms, outdoor patios, and commercial hospitality settings. The core challenges in mold development lie in precise replication of rattan-weave textures with demolding scratch protection, warpage control of large rectangular and oval flat surfaces, and texture consistency across different tabletop shapes. Motek addresses these through texture etching processes, zoned cooling design, and demolding mechanism optimization, helping customers achieve stable mass production of rattan-weave rectangular and oval tables.

Product Features

Precise Replication of Rattan-Weave Textures with Demolding Protection.

The visual core of rattan-weave tabletops lies in the three-dimensionality and continuity of the texture. Motek performs etching on cavity surfaces based on customer-provided rattan samples or texture drawings, reproducing the warp-and-weft interweaving and relief layers of the weave. S136 or 1.2316 corrosion-resistant, polishable steels are selected for textured areas to ensure clear details and long-term rust-free service. Rattan-weave textures are highly susceptible to scraping by mold walls during demolding. Motek provides ample draft angles in textured areas and applies anti-scratch treatment to moving components such as sliders and inserts that contact textured surfaces, ensuring smooth movement without damaging the texture.

Warpage Control for Rectangular and Oval Flat Surfaces.

Rectangular tabletops deform more along the long edge than the short edge during shrinkage, prone to longitudinal bending; oval tabletops exhibit asymmetric shrinkage between major and minor axes, with major-axis ends prone to warping and minor-axis sides prone to concave inward. Motek evaluates shrinkage distribution for each shape separately through mold flow analysis, applies zoned pre-deformation compensation to the cavity, and uses cooling channels zoned along the contour to equalize cooling rates across tabletop regions. Regular reinforcement ribs are arranged on the tabletop underside to enhance rigidity, with rib thickness controlled not to exceed tabletop wall thickness to avoid sink marks on the appearance surface.

Texture Consistency Across Different Tabletop Shapes.

For customers producing both rectangular and oval rattan-weave tables, texture direction, depth, and gloss level must be coordinated across different molds. Motek confirms the texture layout plan for each tabletop shape during the design phase, with texture consistency controlled across all cavity positions during etching. Non-textured areas (such as undersides and edges) can receive fine-texture or matte treatment as required, ensuring a unified overall appearance across product lines.

Demolding Mechanism Optimized for Complex Rattan Structures.

Rattan-weave tabletops often feature edge flanges, snap-fits, or leg mounting structures. During demolding, sliders or inserts must first separate from the product before ejection. Industry experience shows that rattan-weave products with complex structures are prone to deformation or damage if demolded directly. Motek adopts a slider and ejection linkage demolding solution: during mold opening, sliders and positioning inserts are first moved away to release the product from constraints, then the ejection action is performed, improving yield.

Balanced Ejection to Protect Tabletop Appearance.

Large rectangular and oval tabletops are prone to stress whitening or deformation from uneven ejection. Motek adopts a multi-point balanced ejector pin layout arranged along both length and width directions (or along major and minor axes for oval tables), with ejection points preferentially located at reinforcement ribs and other non-appearance areas, ensuring no visible ejector marks on the tabletop appearance surface during demolding.

Applications

Motek rattan-weave tabletop rectangular and oval table molds are suitable for:

  • Rectangular dining tables with rattan-weave tabletop appearance
  • Oval dining tables with rattan-weave tabletop appearance
  • Rattan-weave rectangular/oval coffee tables and side tables
  • Outdoor patio rectangular/oval tables with rattan-weave texture
  • Commercial hospitality tables with rattan-weave visual effects

Service Process

After the customer provides 3D product drawings and rattan texture samples or reference images, Motek completes texture etching plan confirmation, mold flow analysis (including rectangular/oval warpage evaluation and textured area filling evaluation), and mold structure design; cavity steel is selected per texture requirements, with texture samples provided for customer confirmation before etching; during trial molding, Motek cooperates with the customer on texture appearance confirmation and demolding mechanism operation verification, providing samples for final sign-off. Before shipment, molds undergo anti-rust treatment, with water circuit diagrams, consumable parts lists, and texture maintenance notes provided. Technical support is available during the warranty period, with lifetime maintenance consultation.

Motek — From flat tabletop panels to rattan-weave textured surfaces, providing integrated mold solutions for injection-molded appearance and structural forming of rectangular and oval tables.
