Plastic Rattan-Weave Classic Chair Mold — Product Introduction (Motek Furniture Mold Series)

Product Positioning

Motek introduces dedicated injection molds for classic plastic rattan-weave chairs used in restaurants, courtyards, and home settings. Classic rattan-weave chairs use injection molded components to replicate the woven texture and three-dimensional layering of natural rattan, combining the natural aesthetic of rattan with the weather resistance and easy-clean properties of plastic products. Common styles include armchairs, backrest dining chairs, and stackable leisure chairs. The core challenges in mold development lie in precise replication of imitation rattan textures with demolding scratch protection, demolding mechanism design for complex chair structures, and load-bearing and stacking stability under high-frequency use. Motek configures dedicated solutions around texture etching processes, anti-scratch coating treatment, and balanced ejection systems, helping customers achieve stable mass production of classic rattan-weave chairs.

Product Features

Precise Replication of Imitation Rattan Textures with Demolding Scratch Protection.

The visual core of classic rattan-weave chairs lies in the three-dimensionality and continuity of the texture. Motek uses etching processes to reproduce the warp-and-weft interweaving and relief layers of the weave on cavity surfaces. S136 or 1.2316 corrosion-resistant steels are selected for textured areas to ensure clear details and long-term rust-free service. Imitation rattan textures are highly susceptible to scraping by mold walls during demolding. The mature industry approach is to apply nitriding or surface hardening treatment with anti-scratch coatings to moving components such as sliders and inserts, ensuring smooth movement without damaging the texture. Draft angles in textured areas must be precisely designed to prevent tearing.

Demolding Mechanism Design for Complex Chair Structures.

Classic rattan-weave chairs typically include multiple structural features such as legs, seat, backrest, and armrests, making demolding relatively challenging. Motek designs sliders or lifter mechanisms for undercut areas such as outward-splayed legs and curved armrests. During mold opening, sliders and inserts first separate to release constraints, then ejection is performed. For imitation rattan woven parts, stripper plate demolding or flexible demolding methods can be adopted to avoid ejector pins directly acting on textured surfaces and causing indentation.

Structural Reinforcement and Stacking Design for High-Frequency Use Scenarios.

Restaurant and outdoor settings require chairs with sufficient load-bearing capacity and stacking stability. Motek optimizes wall thickness transitions and reinforcement rib layout at load-bearing areas such as chair legs and seat front edges to avoid stress concentration. Mold flow analysis is used to evaluate filling end positions in deep texture groove areas, with proper venting inserts arranged to prevent incomplete texture formation or weak points caused by trapped gas. For stackable models, stacking position angles and spacing are design-verified to ensure stable stacking of multiple chairs with smooth retrieval.

Outdoor Weathering-Oriented Steel and Material Selection.

Outdoor rattan-weave chairs are exposed long-term to UV and temperature fluctuations. S136 or 1.2316 with good corrosion resistance is recommended for cavity steel; industry experience shows such stainless steels can achieve service life exceeding 1,000,000 shots with proper maintenance. For materials, PE rattan compounds (typical MFI 6–20 g/10min) can be selected in coordination with customers to maintain rattan texture quality and flexibility while meeting outdoor weathering requirements.

Balanced Ejection to Protect Texture Appearance.

Chairs have textured surfaces, and uneven ejection force can cause stress whitening or texture indentation. Motek adopts a multi-point balanced ejector pin or ejector block layout, with ejection points preferentially located in non-textured areas (such as chair leg bottoms and underside connection points), ensuring no visible ejector marks on the appearance surface during demolding.

Applications

Motek plastic rattan-weave classic chair molds are suitable for:

  • Classic rattan-weave armchairs/dining chairs
  • Stackable rattan-weave leisure chairs
  • Restaurant/cafe rattan-weave backrest chairs
  • Courtyard/terrace imitation rattan chairs
  • Home rattan-weave dining chairs/study chairs

Service Process

After the customer provides 3D product drawings, rattan texture samples or reference images, and stacking and load-bearing requirements, Motek completes texture etching plan confirmation, mold flow analysis (including textured area filling and venting evaluation), and mold structure design; cavity steel is selected per texture and weathering requirements, with texture samples provided for customer confirmation before etching; during trial molding, Motek cooperates with the customer on texture appearance confirmation, demolding mechanism operation testing, and stacking verification, providing samples for final sign-off. Before shipment, molds undergo anti-rust treatment and action testing, with water circuit diagrams, consumable parts lists, and texture maintenance notes provided. Technical support is available during the warranty period, with lifetime maintenance consultation.

Motek — From classic rattan-weave chairs to complex rattan furniture, providing reliable mold solutions for injection-molded texture forming and structural demolding of restaurant and outdoor furniture.
